Bong stopped in the store today to skate the box. He also picked up the new Nimh V2's. As you can see, they skated pretty well out of the box. Who says you have to pre groove them? Good seeing you Bong and Thanks again!

Alpine Team rider Stephen Timms dropped by today to hit up the Famous "ALPINE BOX". Notice the swett El Camino in the backdrop. Soon Timms ride will be gone as it is for sale on ebay right now. It's always great to end the day with some grindage.

Alpine passed on the first Nimh skate, but we jumped on this second version. It is the Cult shell with the toe box cut out for extra room. It has its own full soul plate and it comes stock with Ground control formula one frames. The Vicious liners are fur lined and they are wicked comfortable. The skates run about a 1/2 size small.
The laces on the front of the skate actually do something. You can feel the skate tighten by lacing them.

Thanks to the intermediates as they are the future of the sport. There was good energy from the crowd, and it's good to see everyone rooting these guys on.
The advanced division was not done as I would have liked due to the crazy threat of rain. But it held out and everyone still had a good time. Comps are all about consistency. The winner on Saturday was wicked consistent. He rolled the whole park and came away almost landing everything he threw. Here's the results:
- Eddie Chung
- Dave Dinnison
- Brian Arnold
- Richie Vaughn
- Tim Phang
- Daniel Breuer
- Kyle Haupt
- Dave Stinnet
Best trick went to Chris "Herb" Burns for his disaster on the box, with an honorable mention going to Tim Phang for his soul on the floor to 180 into the quarter. Most blood award going to "Herb" again, as he had blood everywhere on his body. Most Boastful award is going Brian Arnold, as he said at one point he could "Crush a Kodiak Bear".
Thanks for letting me MC. It is one of my favorite duties. And one final note.

Well, it's Friday morning, and I can think of no better way to start the weekend than by skating the new box. Yes, Matt and I pulled it outside on this beautiful day and it was the perfect start to the weekend.. Skate comp is this weekend at wakefield.

What do you do on the first nice afternoon in a few days? You pull out a box and invite some old friends over to skate. On this evening we were lucky to be visited by two OG's,Mike Hogarty, and Dave Stinnet. These guys still kill it after all these years. Look for Dave to be skating in the comp and Mike to be judging this weekend.
Little girls need good decks too. Here is Hyperlites Devine designed for smooth turns and easy riding. It has a softer ladies flex which makes it perfect for 1st time and intermediate riders. Size shown is the 128.
The Eden Wakeboard comes with toe side/heel side specific edges. You might notice how the tip is shaped differently on each side. We saw this earlier in Santa Cruz snowboards with the backside edge. This differentiation in shape allows the boarder to switch between toeside turns and heelside turns effortlessly. This is of course the ladies model so it has a softer flex, women's specific flex. deck is a subtle 3 stage rocker for a moderate kick off the wake.
