Old schooler Dustin Metz dropped by Alpine yesterday. Good to see him still skating and still slaying it. It was a beautiful day to pull out the box and skate. Dustin is shown here lacing a misfit. We look forward to seeing more of this guy around.

My name is Bruce

I just saw this yesterday. It looks to be just a little bit hilarious. Take a look for yourselves.

Rollerblade Micro 4X Girls

If you have growing kids, you already know how expensive it is to keep shoes on their feet, much less blades. Rollerblade answers this age old problem with the 4 size adjustable Jr skate. It's super easy to extend the toe box and allow the child's foot to have more room. This is a real skate with excellent ankle support, abec 3 bearings, and 72mm pink wheels to match. It's only $79 and I have seen kids use these skates up to 3 years!

Nimh Shima V2 Skate

Alpine passed on the first Nimh skate, but we jumped on this second version. It is the Cult shell with the toe box cut out for extra room. It has its own full soul plate and it comes stock with Ground control formula one frames. The Vicious liners are fur lined and they are wicked comfortable. The skates run about a 1/2 size small.
The laces on the front of the skate actually do something. You can feel the skate tighten by lacing them.
The buckle protector is extra beefy, so it looks like it will actually work. It of course come with vicious bearings as well. Stop by and try a pair on. You will not be disappointed.

Wakefield Skate Comp Results

Richie Vaughn out of Charlottesville VA.Bong showing off a backside Royale
Catfood Linking his souls on the box
Doug Cupo locking it. Matty Strykul still competing after all these years.
Thanks to everyone who came out Wakefield skate park this past weekend. It was a great time, and a good way to kick off the inline season. As you may have heard, this is the first comp in a series of comps with a points winner being declared in August. Points will be posted on rolldc.com at the end of this week.
The winners in the Intermediate division:
  1. Drew Blankenship
  2. Patrick Garrettson
  3. Zak Fetzner
  4. Rigo Rodriguez
  5. Zach Krenik

Thanks to the intermediates as they are the future of the sport. There was good energy from the crowd, and it's good to see everyone rooting these guys on.

The advanced division was not done as I would have liked due to the crazy threat of rain. But it held out and everyone still had a good time. Comps are all about consistency. The winner on Saturday was wicked consistent. He rolled the whole park and came away almost landing everything he threw. Here's the results:

  1. Eddie Chung
  2. Dave Dinnison
  3. Brian Arnold
  4. Richie Vaughn
  5. Tim Phang
  6. Daniel Breuer
  7. Kyle Haupt
  8. Dave Stinnet

Best trick went to Chris "Herb" Burns for his disaster on the box, with an honorable mention going to Tim Phang for his soul on the floor to 180 into the quarter. Most blood award going to "Herb" again, as he had blood everywhere on his body. Most Boastful award is going Brian Arnold, as he said at one point he could "Crush a Kodiak Bear".

Thanks for letting me MC. It is one of my favorite duties. And one final note.

May 1 Box Session

What do you do on the first nice afternoon in a few days? You pull out a box and invite some old friends over to skate. On this evening we were lucky to be visited by two OG's,Mike Hogarty, and Dave Stinnet. These guys still kill it after all these years. Look for Dave to be skating in the comp and Mike to be judging this weekend.

Hyperlite Devine

Little girls need good decks too. Here is Hyperlites Devine designed for smooth turns and easy riding. It has a softer ladies flex which makes it perfect for 1st time and intermediate riders. Size shown is the 128.

Hyperlite Eden Wakeboard

The Eden Wakeboard comes with toe side/heel side specific edges. You might notice how the tip is shaped differently on each side. We saw this earlier in Santa Cruz snowboards with the backside edge. This differentiation in shape allows the boarder to switch between toeside turns and heelside turns effortlessly. This is of course the ladies model so it has a softer flex, women's specific flex. deck is a subtle 3 stage rocker for a moderate kick off the wake.
