Charles came in today and picked up a flow Quantum from last season and put on this years Ride EX Binder. This set up just pops with the ride on it. On his feet will be this seasons vans encore boa boots in black. Nice work.

Shane McConkey Tribute Skis

The Ski world lost a great individual this season. The man that helped greenlight some epic skiing and some out of this world ski design. "Saucerboy" is remembered here with this one of a kind tribute ski. We here at Alpine were lucky to get our hands one one pair of these. Numbered 171 and rumored to be only 500 pair made, this pontoon has pictures of many great moments in Mcconkeys long career. Stop in and check these out next time your in.

Andrew has been eying this deck for a couple of weeks. He came in today and grabbed this Ride Control and put on Cadet DLX in black green. This Set up looks great and it is guaranteed to kill.

New Santa Cruz Wood In Stock today

I used to love Santa Cruz graphics back in the 80's. Their team was sick and the art was amazing. It looks as though they are getting back to the roots again with some throwback art on some solid wood. Keith Meeks slasher gets a new touch up on 2 decks and veteran Tom Knox gets some cool art as well. Stop in and take a peep at all the new wood up on Alpine's wall!

Lauren was looking for a new deck at a great price and we hooked her up with this sweet set up. It is last years Arbor eden deck with Ride LXH binders. Looks pretty sick. We even had a Vans encore with BOA left over from last season that made this set up complete. Thanks Lauren and enjoy the new board!

Ever get real thirsty while skating, but you don't have a bottle opener? No worries. Skate the Brue Killer with it's 8.5 width and killer pop. grove came in on his Thanksgiving break from UVA and picked up a set of last seasons k2 extremes in a 174. And what binder did he put on it? Of course the Marker Gryffon. This set up is HOT, and he saved some dough grabbing the last pair from last year. Thanks Grove, and Enjoy the ride.

Colin Got some park skis

His wait is over! Colin got himself some new park skis. Line's afterbang's with the 7 ply skateboard construction. He put on the new Marker Gryffon binder. It's Uber lightweight and looks sick on this ski. Look for Colin to be killing it at any of out local mountains.

Gridiron Sundays at Alpine

All year long I cannot wait for the NFL to start up. Even though my team will find a way to lose, it's the thrill that they MAY win a game. Matt is in luck as the steelers are looking strong this season. Marla is hopeful the skins can pull one out against a tough division rival in the Cowboys.

Alpine Recycles..

Yes we recycle. Have been for years and years. We get a ton of cardboard (literally) and it all goes down the street in the recycler.
Alpine also believes in rescuing dogs. Mags here was a rescue dog and we love her dearly.
While I am tooting my own horn. Alpine also loves babies, cheese, American made lagers, rainbows, and snow days. Apple pie is pretty high on the list as well as burritos from pretty much anywhere. I personally am a fan of tortilla factory in downtown herndon, but chipotle will do me just fine.
We also like fleetwood Mac, Phish, The Dead, The rolling stones and the presidents of the United states of america to name a few great bands. We do what we do because we can. we live and work in the greatest country in the world, and we are proud to do so.
So next time you think of America, think of alpine, as we are doing our part to keep America great.

Good stuff from the crew over at Element skateboards came in today. Some old classics and some new designs are now on the skate wall. Also we have new element urethane. The wheels always do well, and notice the new red one.

Mags the "Shop Dog"

What do you do with a dog that tears up your house whenever you leave her alone? You bring her into work. Meet Sugar Mags. She looks and sounds sweet, but she sometimes has a mind of her own. We rescued her this summer, and she is a little hard headed, but when she's sweet she is super lovable. Hopefully we can work on some listening skills while at the shop. Alpine Grenade stickers

I must give it up to whomever is in charge of marketing over at Grenade. A couple of months ago I got a letter saying, Thanks for carrying grenade let us help you by making you some die cut vinyl stickers. All they asked for was a logo, and they would send them out. So, I sent them the ass logo and never heard back from them. I thought nothing of it until yesterday, when a box of these stickers arrived at my doorstep. Now, I know how much vinyl decals cost to make, and this is above and beyond. I am sure they make a ton and get them pretty cheap, but what other company is doing this out there?
This is a great co branding job from a small company that is only getting bigger. I have only great things to say now about the grenade company, and I look forward to doing more with them in the future, but for now stop in and check out all the dope grenade gloves we have in stock and grab a new sticker for your deck!

Valo EB 1 Boot in grey

The new Erik Bailey boot from Valo is now in stock. The grey suede is soft and buttery and looks amazing. The treatment on the liner makes this boot really stand out. Valo is bringing some innovative thoughts to the inline industry. their skates have great shelf appeal and really pop off the wall. They are the first to be tried on in store, and the fit is pretty good. Julio has something good going on with this brand. Not the most exciting post I know, but if you are in "the Know", then you understand how hard it is to find these at retail outlets. Indoor and outdoor hardnesses are available in different durometers. Rink Rat has, what we feel, some of the best inline hockey urethane. Make sure you bring in your skates so we can find the correct size.

Chris Hardin Set up of the month

Chris is shown here holding his new Jib machine. It's the 180 cm Lib skunk ape. When asked about it's size, chris mumbled " the xtra length helps me pick up the ladies. You know what they say about the size of a man's board." I didn't fully understand, but decided to ask him how he plans to spin this in the park. His next words were slightly unintelligible, but it sounded something like "I'll spin this so hard it'll sound like a helicopter come a buzzin over your head." I don't know about you, but i believe him. look for lil chris to be killin the backside of sugar mtn with his new ride!

Nike 6.0 drop for November

3 new 6.0 shoes are now in stock. 2 great kids offerings are shown first. Up top is the mogan jr in black/sport red. Below is the mogan mid jr in black sea green. Kids shoes are always hard to find, especially in the 13-2 size range. We have both of these kicks down that small for the little groms who want some cool skateboard shoes.
Below is the great, and I stress great, new colorway in the 6.0 dunk. Usually reserved for the SB line, the dunk gets a sick treatment in this blueprint/classic charcoal color. It's got a great design, and is accented by a nice aqua hit. Be sure to check these out on your next visit.

Ugg classic shorts are back

Alpine just got in 40 pair of this sought after boot today in 3 great colors. Black, grey and chocolate are shown above. We also got in sand, it just didn't make the picture. The classic short is extremely comfortable and meant to be worn without socks. They run about a size big, so buy accordingly. this is our allotment of this model, so once they are gone, we can't get any more. These are still on every girls Christmas "NEED" list, so hurry in before these are all snatched up.

Ski Swap Time Again?

Seems like just yesterday I worked my first swap at Alpine. It was 1985, and back then swaps were HUGE!. we would have 5,000 people roll through the store and parking lot looking for deals. the front yard would be filled with all kinds of skis and boots. we would bring out clearance racks of clothing and build up makeshift dressing rooms. we would put 3 registers outside and have the fagowees selling hot dogs and soda on the side lot. I was just 14, and it was a fun time to be in the ski industry.
Now, in our 38th year, I have seen a huge resurgence of the ski swap. People are coming back out and looking for great used gear. The glut of straight skis and step in snowboard binders is nearly behind us. There are some great deals to be had at these events. There are ways to go skiing and snowboarding with out having to drop big dollars.Pick up a couple season old pair of skis or snowboard and forgo the rental line.
Stop in this weekend and let our staff help outfit you in a great "new to you" set up. Or drop off your old equipment and let us sell it for you.
remember.. we have the right to refuse ANY equipment I deem unsafe. If you don't like it, then put it on craigslist. No straight skis, No old thermoplastic boots. Nothing but the good stuff.
