"Inspiration

As we collectively began to dabble in new directions in sliding, we found ourselves in want of a new and unique wheel. Our existing lineup of freeride wheels (the Durian, Stimulus, and Fat Free) maintained a conservative balance of traction and driftability that is intended for downhill freeriding. The current emphasis is on the ability to grip and hold a line through corners at speed. The slide aspect of these wheels is focused on shaving off speed (in a pragmatic fashion) as well as to begin exploring progressive freeriding.

The Balut is the result of our desire to investigate the other end of the grip-slip spectrum: a freestyle slide wheel that allows for longer drifts and quicker, more numerous rotations with minimal speed loss. This is a first step in a new direction for us, and we’re excited to see where it takes us."

Baluts will be available Thursday, February 2nd at $54.99 per set (MSRP).

When atomic first introduced this boot, I couldn't be happier. It is a narrow lasted boot that has a normal flex for the average to above average woman skier. It fit great and it was easy to flex. Who new they would hit it out of the park this upcoming season. Notice they added Live Fit to the outside of this model. It will make this boot already more comfortable than it is already. Great new colors for the these 2 models.

Above is the world famous Atomic Hawx 90 mens boots. it's coming back virtually unchanged for next season. This past seasons alternate colorway was green. This season it's going to be this awesome yellow. Still a great fit at the same 100mm last.
Below is a new Live Fit boot. These are part of the freeride collection and will come with a 102 last and 2 buckles. The white/black is a 60 flex, and the red is an 80 flex. These are going to be hot.

It has Quick rip sidecut, which is an advanced sidecut geometry giving the deck a short playful feel at slower speeds, and a longer fast and stable feel at higher speeds. K2 Mach 100 Inline skate 2012

Yes we know it's January, but we also know inline skaters are clamoring for the new models. So here is the new Mach 100 coming with the usual Hi'Low set up. 100mm wheels in the back and 90's up front. It has a new pull lace system this year, that has been used in other models before. The fit is right on and this lace system is super easy. ILQ abec 9+ bearings make this skate super fast and super smooth. More models in stock with pics coming soon.

Orangatang brings out a new Wheel-The Balut

Here they are. The new wheel. Here is the lowdown.
The Baluts are centerset and symmetrical, allowing for maximum flexibility when rotating and flipping to promote even wear on all four wheels. By using a larger spoked core and removing significant amounts of urethane between the bearing seat and outer edge of the core, we were able to reduce the overall wheel weight for increased agility in slides and freestyle tricks alike.

SALT LAKE CITY - Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke was in a coma after suffering a serious injury while training on a superpipe Tuesday.
Burke, a halfpipe pioneer who lobbied tirelessly to get her sport included in the Winter Olympics, was airlifted from Park City, Utah to a Salt Lake City hospital after crashing at the end of a training run.
Peter Judge, CEO of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association, said sources had told him Burke was in a coma while a spokeswoman at University Hospital in Salt Lake confirmed Burke had been admitted and was being evaluated.
Burke was training with a private group ahead of the Winter X Games when the accident occurred.
"We know that she had landed a trick in the pipe and had landed at the bottom of the pipe and kind of hit on her feet, so she landed, and then bounced onto her feet, head kind of thing," Judge told The Canadian Press. "Apparently from what we heard it didn't look like it was that kind of severe a fall, but obviously she must have just hit in the right way."
